OU812 is the eighth studio album by Van Halen, the second with Sammy Hagar instead of David Lee Roth. While it reached number 1 in the USA, Canada and … Finland (!), the reviews were mixed. Ranging from "a record of clear professionalism or barely discernible inspiration, but not both" to "the curve balls [...] don't always hit the strike zone” and "cynical corporate rock", we can conclude that it would be more advisable to just listen to their first three albums.
