Tiny Perfusion Letter #741

When we started perfusion, the first perfusion group that we ever pumped with, used a strong motto: “You can only pump one case at a time”. It helped us look at an overflowing schedule and not be bothered by nurses, surgeons and anesthesiologists who wanted their share in deciding what got on the schedule and what not.

We at TPL kept that motto and use it in our daily life: “You can only do one thing at a time”. Think you’re good at multitasking? Think again… And again… You don’t have to believe us, but apparently, there’s unanimity in the research on the science of multi-tasking:

People who chronically multitask, are basically chronically distracted.

Soooo, focus on the TPL for 2 minutes now, or dedicate some time for it later… ;-)

Fun Fact: several of the authors mentioned in this TPL, also featured in the very first TPL, sent on Feb 24, 2015… Whoever finds out the names of the authors, wins the 2024 Distraction of the Year Award!
